A Few Exciting Firsts
It has been a little bit of a rocky start to the year for some of us and is definitely unlike any other we have seen in our life times. Along with some of the challenging firsts we are trying to forge a way through and hopefully get back to some sort of normalcy soon, we are also looking at some exciting firsts for Apprentice Academy this year.
Picture day is going to be on Friday 9/25/2020 and we will be taking pictures from 8 AM to 2:30 PM. We are of course still limited in the number of people that we can have in the building at one time, which is where what seems to have become one of our primary tools comes in, the Sign-Up Genius. The day has been broken up into hourly time slots with 45 maximum students per block. When you visit the sign-up, please read the instructions in their entirety before selecting you time slot.
School transportation will be provided on a case by case basis and if you require transportation please choose a time slot between 8 AM and 11 AM and contact the Transportation Director Mr. Gearhart (email@example.com) as soon as possible. If you do not require school transportation please choose a time slot after 11 AM if possible.

Make-up day for pictures is Friday 10/23, times and procedures will be announced when that date gets closer based on the turn out for the 9/25 photos.
Seniors - Our first full graduating class, the Apprentice Academy High School Class of 2021! Seniors are invited to participate in this picture day and will also have a separate senior only picture day later in the year, after you have ordered and received your cap and gown. All seniors will have a choice in the picture they want in the yearbook, you can choose a standard yearbook photo, for those of you in a trade/internship you can take a photo in your uniform/gear for that trade, or the cap and gown photo we will take later in the year. Also be on the lookout for exciting news and events that are in planning to make your senior year exciting and memorable.
Yearbook - Another exciting first for 2021 is the first Apprentice Academy Yearbook. Links to purchase and to buy senior ads are posted at the bottom of the school home page. Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, a link is posted to submit your own photos to be included in the yearbook. Since it seems that much of this year will be spent in distance learning let us see how you are spending your time and what the "classroom" looks like where you are.
Athletics - Athletics are coming back, look for an athletics post soon, with all of the changes that have been made within the NCHSAA calendar and sports seasons, this year will, as in most other things, look a bit different. I will also be sending out a new sport interest survey since the timing of some of the sports will be vastly different from normal seasons.
Parents, Students, Family Members, Friends - make sure you have created an account on the school website (aahsnc.org) and signed up for the "Notify Me" groups that you wish to receive news and information from so you don't miss any important notifications or news!
