James Warner, PE
James Warner is a Professional Engineer who has lived in Waxhaw, NC, for 34 years and in North Carolina since 1974. James has a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Penn State and worked for several Architecture & Engineering firms in the Charlotte area before opening his consulting practice in 1988. James has further been active in Waxhaw government serving on the planning board for 15 years and as an elected official on the Town's Board of Commissioners for 4 years.
James grew up as the 2nd of 8 children (7 boys and 1 girl) in a blue-collar family in rural Northwest Pennsylvania. James states that most of his siblings are in the trade professions even though several have 4-year college degrees. He sees the need for technical people who know and understand how things work and enjoy getting their hands' dirty with the details.
Board Vice Chair
Penny Wellman was born in Mt Holly and has lived in Charlotte since 2000. She has an AAS degree in criminal justice. She has done volunteer work for the Charlotte Center of Hope and Habitat for Humanity.
She believes in the mission of Apprentice Academy High School because it provides the training and skills not otherwise provided to students to become successful and productive community members with fulling career options right out of high school.
